Key Insights

Glenn Phillips became the first centurion in ODI cricket in 2025. He smashed a quick 106 not out against Pakistan in early February. Phillips reached the 100-run mark in 72 balls, the second fastest by a New Zealand batter against Pakistan.

A couple of days later, New Zealand were on the receiving end. South Africa’s Matthew Breetzke smashed 150 off 148 in Lahore, making it the highest ODI score by a debutant. Breetzke also became the fourth South African debutant to score an ODI hundred.

Mohammad Rizwan (122*) and Salman Agha (134) scored a century at No. 4 and 5, respectively, against South Africa in Karachi. This is the second instance of Nos. 4 and 5 batters scoring ODI hundreds in the same match against South Africa.

On February 14, Brian Bennett hammered a 169-run knock against Ireland in Harare. This is now the fifth-highest ODI score by a Zimbabwe batter.

Ben Duckett became the first batter to score a 150-plus knock in the Champions Trophy (CT). He brought up 165 runs against Australia in Lahore.

Four days later, Ibrahim Zadran bettered Duckett’s score in the tournament. He scored 177 against England at the same venue. Zadran’s 177 is now the highest individual score by an Afghani batter in 50-over cricket.

Rachin Ravindra scored two ODI tons in CT 2025, the most by a batter in the edition. He also became the first batter to bring up his first five hundreds in ICC ODI competitions. Ravindra’s first three centuries came in the ODI World Cup in 2023.

West Indies’ Keacy Carty scored 102 and 170 in consecutive ODI innings against Ireland in May. This is the ninth instance of a Caribbean batter scoring two consecutive centuries in ODIs. Find the batter who has scored the most consecutive centuries in ODIs here.

With his 102-run knock against Nepal in Dundee, Richie Berrington became the second Scottish batter to score two ODI hundreds in two or more calendar years. His first ton (105) of this year came against the Netherlands in Utrecht.

Berrington’s teammate, George Munsey, became the fifth batter from Scotland to bring up two ODI centuries in the same year. Both of his tons have come against the Netherlands.

Munsey’s second hundred, though, ended in a loss. As a result, his valiant effort of 191 became the third-highest score in a losing ODI match. Munsey’s 191 is the highest ODI score by an associate nation batter.

In the same match, Max O’Dowd scored an unbeaten 158, the highest score for the Netherlands in ODIs. This is also the highest score for the Dutch in a winning cause.
