Babar Azam, the Pakistani skipper, has proved his mettle in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and T20 Internationals (T20Is). And he has just started to fire up in the longest format of the game — Test Cricket.

He made his ODI debut in 2015, but he had to wait for more than a year to make his Test debut. In October 2016, he made his Test debut against the West Indies in Dubai. 

Babar kicked off his Test career by smashing a maiden half-century in the first innings. Since then, he has played 49 Tests for Pakistan, until July 2023.

Babar Azam scored his maiden Test century (127*) in 2018 against New Zealand. He had to wait two years after making his debut to achieve this feat.

He scored exactly 616 runs back-to-back in the 2018 and 2019 calendar years. 

It’s fair to say that 2022 was a wonderful year for Babar Azam, as he scored 1184 runs in 17 innings with an impressive average of 69.64.
