Ranking the Top 5 T20 Cricketing Leagues of the World

The fever of varied Cricketing Leagues is at its peak nowadays. Indian Premier League had taken charge of leading the eminence of Domestic Cricket leagues in the world. Vitality T20 Blast is the oldest model of domestic leagues, but it is not that popular like IPL or PSL. When the T20 format was invented in 2003, it was utterly buzzless, but the ICC had conducted the T20 World cup in 2007 to make it more popularised.

In 2008, BCCI got the idea of carving a special domestic T20 league for India. The same had been applied by Cricket Australia, as they took a little time but finally drafted the Big Bash League. #1 Indian Premier League (IPL)

The Indian Premier League has been predominantly famous from the beginning in domestic tournaments. It was founded in the year 2008 by the BCCI. Initially, there were 8 teams in the competition, but later as the raw talent has increased in the domestic circuit, the number has increased. In 2011 the tally increased to 10 due to the inclusion of Kochi Tuskers Kerala & Sahara group-owned Pune Warriors India. But they couldn’t stay up for a long time in the IPL.

In the latest, two teams, Lucknow Supergiants & Gujarat Titans, are added to make it again at ten. As per the numbers of a few surveys, IPL had a brand value of 47,500 crores, the second-highest among all International leagues.

#2 Pakistan Super League (PSL)

Pakistan Super League has gained tremendous popularity in a brief period. Launched by Pakistan Cricket Board and cultivated from the mind of ex-chief Shaharyar Khan in 2015. It consisted of 5 teams initially in the first season representing the five big cities of Pakistan, but in 2017 Multan Sultans, the 6th team, was added into the competition.

This is the second most popular league after the phonetic Indian Premier League. Currently, the six teams as per the cities are as follows: Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators.

#3 Big Bash League (BBL)

Big Bash or KFC Big Bash League was founded in 2011 by Cricket Australia after keeping the high brand business done by IPL, which was started 3 years before it. KFC, the American food outlet, has sponsored the Big Bash Cricket League.

#4 Carribean Premier League (CPL)

CPL was founded by the West Indies Cricket Board in 2013, just 2 years after the Big Bash was founded. Caribbean premier league is the 4th most famous Cricket league in the world. Dwayne Bravo is considered the greatest legend of this league as he picked up 114 wickets and became the most wicket-taker in its history.

CPL had 6 teams in the competition representing the cities of Guyana, Barbados, Jamaica, Trinbago, Saint Lucia & Saint Kitts & Nevis. St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots are the current Champions of CPL season 9.

#5 The Vitality T20 Blast

The T20 Blast or the Vitality T20 Blast called for the sponsorship purpose is the oldest cricket league in the sphere of Domestic Tournaments. Founded in 2003 by England & Wales Cricket Board for the annual championship purpose in the country. But, being the veteran & oldest, this is the most underrated t20 league. It consisted of 18 teams from the various cities of Britain for competition & cricketing talent upliftment objectives.

The Sam Billings leading Kent County Cricket Club is the current champion of the Vitality T20 Blast. On the other hand, Leicestershire County Cricket Club is the most successful team in this tournament who won the title 3 times in 18 years.
