David Warner’s IPL journey completed a cycle when Delhi Capitals picked him in the 2022 mega auction. The Australian striking opening batter kick-started his IPL career in the Delhi side way back in 2009. At the age of 35, he found his way back to the side, where he laid his foundations on.
When Sunrisers Hyderabad bought Warner in 2014, very few people guessed that the Australian left-hander would lead the team to its maiden title and enjoy three Orange Cap winning seasons – the most in the tournament.
Although Warner’s SRH stint came to a dramatic and drastic ending, he has been the best for anyone who has played for the Orange jerseys. Three out of Warner’s five best IPL performances came while playing for SRH.
Now back to his former side, the Tasmanian has been brilliant, averaging more than 50 in the 2022 season. Most importantly, his unbeaten 92 against SRH is considered one of the best revenge stories in IPL.
This article will analyse his year-by-year batting stats, such as runs, average, strike rate, high scores, the fifties, and hundreds in the IPL seasons.
