Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored the fastest-ever fifty by any cricketer in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He crossed the 50-run mark in 13 deliveries against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens in 2023.
While doing so, Jaiswal beat the then all-time quickest fifty record held jointly by two players – Pat Cummins and KL Rahul, who reached the milestone previously in 14 balls.
Let’s quickly jump to the list of cricketers who scored the fastest fifties in IPL.

Key Insights
Jaiswal’s incredible knock is also the fastest IPL fifty in an away game.
Suresh Raina’s 16-ball 50 against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) at the Wankhede Stadium is the quickest IPL fifty in a knockout game. Raina’s hammering innings came in the second Qualifier of IPL 2014, where Punjab won against CSK. (Find here the list of centuries scored in knock-out games in the IPL.)
Jake Fraser-McGurk’s 15-ball half-century against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2024 is the fastest IPL fifty in a losing cause.
Nicholas Pooran, Travis Head, and Fraser-McGurk are the only three batters to score three or more fifties under 20 balls in the IPL.
In the above list, Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians have the most entries – seven each. And MI also top as the team with the most entries (nine) on the receiving end of the quick fifties.
