Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored the fastest-ever fifty by any cricketer in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He crossed the 50-run mark in 13 deliveries against Kolkata in Eden Gardens in the 2023 edition of the tournament.
While doing so, Jaiswal beats the then all-time quickest fifty record held jointly by two players – Pat Cummins and KL Rahul, who reached the milestone previously in 14 balls.

Jaiswal’s incredible is also the fastest IPL fifty in an away game.
Suresh Raina’s 16-ball 50 against KXIP in Wankhede Stadium is the quickest IPL 50 in a knockout game. Raina’s hammering innings came in the 2nd Qualifier of IPL 2014, where Kings XI Punjab won against CSK. Find here the list of centuries scored in IPL knock-out games.
And, thereby, Raina’s knock in Wankhede is also the fastest IPL 50 scored in a losing cause.
Narine and Rahul are the only two players to score the 50s under 20 balls in IPL twice. Narine’s other pacy 50 also came against RCB in 17 balls, this time in Eden Gardens, and Rahul scored a 19-ball 50 against CSK in IPL 2019 in the same venue where he scored the IPL’s quickest-ever half-century.
In the above list, Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians have the most entries – 3 each. And KKR also tops as the team with the most entries (3) in the receiving end of the quick 50s.
