Key Insights on the Quickest Half-Centuries in T20I Cricket
Fastest T20I Fifty Record
Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee has smashed the fastest fifty in T20I cricket. He brought up his 50 off nine balls against Mongolia in the 2023 Asian Games.
Airee remained unbeaten on 52 runs from 10 balls to achieve a strike rate of 520, the highest by a batter in a T20I innings (minimum 10 balls faced).
Airee’s strong finish propelled Nepal to 314 for 3, the first-ever 300-plus total by a team in T20Is.
The 14-ball fifties by Colin Munro (New Zealand vs Sri Lanka), Ramesh Satheesan (Romania vs Serbia), and Sahil Chauhan (Estonia vs Cyprus) are the joint-fastest in T20I run chases.
Full-Member, Associate Nation and T20 World Cup Fastest Fifties
Yuvraj Singh, meanwhile, has scored the fastest half-century in T20Is among full-member batters. His 12-ball fifty against England in 2007 is also the fastest by a batter in the T20 World Cup.
During his knock, Yuvraj hit 6 sixes in an over, the first batter to do so in T20Is. The 6 sixes came in Stuart Broad’s over, making it the second most expensive over in T20Is.
Namibia’s Jan Frylinck has smashed the fastest fifty by an associate batter against a full member T20I team. He reached the 50-run mark in 13 balls against Zimbabwe in 2025.
Fastest T20I Half-Centuries by Role
