Normally in a game of cricket, high-scoring games mean there would be a lot of fireworks from batters in the middle and at least one of the batters scoring a ton. These would probably be one’s expectations when such batting innings take place, because anyone who follows cricket knows that big totals in ODIs become highly possible when a batter or 2 score a big daddy hundred.
But it is not essentially true, as there are some instances where teams have accumulated big scores even when none of their batters makes a triple figure. These, however, are rare, but this is where the beauty of cricket lies, as in such times most of the batters from the team would have gotten starts.
So in this article, we will see the 10 highest ODI team totals with no batsman scoring a century.

Key insights from the above stats
15: Number of times where the team total has touched 350 or more, even without any of their batters scoring a century.
392: The highest total posted by a team without a single batter crossing the 3-figure mark. It was at Centurion in 2007 when as many as 4 South African batters made half-centuries each, with none converting it into a century. Jacques Kallis was the top scorer with 88 runs, and the Proteas won the match comfortably against Pakistan in the end.
3: The number of instances in this list that have taken place in the year 2023. Being a World Cup year, close to 200 matches were played, and out of the 3, one occurred in the World Cup, one in the World Cup Qualifier, and the other in a bilateral. (Check out the highest team scores in the World Cup here.)
99: As expected, the highest individual score in these scenarios is 99, which has been achieved by multiple players in ODI history. One is Rahul Dravid, who top scored with 99 out of India’s 344 against Pakistan at Karachi in 2004, and South Africa’s AB de Villiers did the same in the 2015 World Cup game against the UAE.
3: India is the only side that has featured thrice in this list, once for and twice against. Australia was the side that registered 2 of the 10 highest scores made without a century against India and remains the only side to lose in that situation. Australia lost the game in 2013 at Jaipur despite making 359 in their 50 overs as India chased it down easily, making it India’s highest run chase in the 50-over format.
2: Sri Lanka, Australia, and South Africa are the 3 sides that appear in this list twice. Except for that blip by Australia, the other 5 occurrences have resulted in victories.
