Historic Highs and Away Performance Records

Harry Brook and Joe Root have stitched the highest partnership in WTC history, scoring 454 runs together for the fourth wicket against Pakistan in the second innings of the 2024 Multan Test.

The 454-run stand between Brook and Root is the highest partnership in an away Test and in a Test win in the WTC.

The English duo of Harry Brook and Joe Root also holds the record for the highest partnership by a pair for the fourth wicket in all of Test cricket.

Harry Brook and Jamie Smith recorded the highest partnership in a losing cause in the WTC, adding 303 runs for the sixth wicket against India in the second innings of the 2025 Birmingham Test.

The 303-run stand is also recognized as the highest for the sixth wicket in WTC history.


Top Opening Partnerships and Left-Handed Duos

Devon Conway and Tom Latham of New Zealand have scored the highest partnership for the first wicket in the WTC, collecting 323 runs together against the West Indies in the first innings of the 2025 Bay Oval Test. See where it stands in the overall opening partnership stand in Tests.

The 323-run stand between Conway and Latham is the highest between two left-hand partners in the history of Test cricket.

Conway and Latham collectively scored 515 runs in a single Test match (adding 192 runs in the third innings to their first-innings total), the most partnership runs by an opening pair in a single Test match.

Devon Conway and Tom Latham became the first pair in Test history to score hundreds in both innings of the same match.


Consistency and Multi-Milestone Batting Pairs

England’s Joe Root and Australia’s Steven Smith have each had five or more stands of 100 or more runs with three different partners in the WTC.

Henry Nicholls and Kane Williamson have recorded the highest partnership at home in the WTC, putting up 369 runs for the fourth wicket against Pakistan in the second innings of the 2021 Christchurch Test.

Henry Nicholls and Kane Williamson are the only pair with two partnerships of 300 or more runs in the WTC.

Harry Brook is the only other batter to feature in two 300-plus stands in the WTC, achieved with different partners.
