Graham Gooch, a former England skipper, also scored his highest score against India in Test cricket. The English skipper had a fantastic record as captain as he scored 3582 runs at an average of 58 in Test cricket.
In India’s tour of England 1990, Graham Gooch played a marvelous knock of 333 runs in the first Test match at the home of cricket (Lord’s). He opened the innings and led from the front as the right-handed batsman smashed 43 fours and three sixes against the Indian bowling attack. Along with the skipper, Allan Lamb and Robin Smith also scored a ton and posted a huge total of 653 runs. The English skipper continued his rhythm in the second innings and completed his second hundred of the Test match as England won the match by a huge margin of 247 runs.
