The ODI format has gone through some immense transformation since its inception. Initially, if a team scored 250 runs, it was considered a huge total.
Now, the times have changed, and even 300 looks like a walk in the park. And many teams have scored above 350 many times, with some even going past the mark of 400 runs.

498: This is the highest score by any team in ODIs, and England put this total on board against the Netherlands in 2022.
374: Talking of the Netherlands, the Dutch scored their highest ODI team total against the West Indies in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers.
Batting first, the West Indies put up 374/6 on the scoreboard. In response, the Netherlands tied the game by scoring exactly 374/9 in 50 overs. This is the only game on this list that ended in a tie, though the Netherlands won the match in the Super Over.

434: Australia became the first team to cross the mark of 400 runs as they scored 434/4 runs. And this is Australia’s highest team total in ODIs, though this is also the highest team score in a losing cause.
Despite Australia posting a mammoth total on the board, South Africa thrashed the target with one ball to spare, making it the highest successful run chase in the 50-over format.
2007: Canada and Bermuda scored their respective highest ODI totals against Ireland during the 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division One. Canada posted 312/4, while Bermuda scored 275/8 at Jaffery Sports Club Ground in Nairobi.
400: South Africa, India, and England are the only 3 teams that have scored 400-plus runs in 5 or more ODI matches.
