The 5th match of the ongoing Big Bash League in Australia will see the Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Sixers meet at Launceston.
This will be the Hurricanes’ first schedule in this edition, whereas the Sixers started with an 8-run win against the Melbourne Renegades two days earlier.
Let’s get into the predictions and fantasy cricket tips for the game.
HUR vs SIX: Pitch Prediction
As it is the first game in this venue, there is no concrete idea about the kind of pitch that will turn out. However, expect it to be a slower one, like the case in other games that have been played in other venues.

Team News
Steve Smith, who played in the Sixers’ opening game, has returned to national duty in Perth, where Australia is facing Pakistan in Tests and will miss a significant part of this BBL edition starting from this game. He is expected to return on January 12th in the all-Sydney derby match.
Nathan Ellis replaced Matthew Wade as the captain of the Hurricanes’ side, and Wade, the current Australian T20 captain, will play under the new captain as a frontline batting wicketkeeper.
HUR vs SIX: Dream XI Prediction
Wicketkeeper: All three wicketkeepers involved in this game are pick-worthy, but considering the form, Wade and Phillippe star above Ben McDermott.
Batters: James Vince, Jordan Silk, and Tim David form a strong middle-order to your batting line-up. For David, this is an ideal situation to free his bat. I recommend you pick him as your VC if the Hurricanes bat first.
All-Rounders: Moises Henriques, the Sydney captain, played a decent knock in the first game before coming on to bowl a single over. Chris Jordan can be super-useful in these conditions where the balls meet the bats slower.
Bowlers: There are a lot of options, but I have restricted myself to Sean Abbott (who can also bat), Ben Dwarshuis (pick of the bowlers in the last game), Nathan Ellis (Hurricanes Captain), and Riley Meredith.
