A batter can witness 2 extreme results personally in a game of cricket. One is the happiness of reaching the 3-figure mark (100), and the other one is agony of getting out on a zero or duck. For a batsmen, crossing 100 run-mark in an innings is an significant achievement as it requires a great deal of skill to battle the opposition bowlers and a long period of concentration, dedication at the crease. Hence, for even for the best batters, completing a century will give them a lot of satisfaction.
At the other end of spectrum, the disappointment that getting out on a duck gives a batter is enormous, especially given that they have to sit in the dressing room watch rest of his teammates bat. While there is only one innings in white-ball cricket, Test cricket offers batters with two opportunities and there are instances where a batter has seen the both extremes (scoring a duck and century in same Test). Meanwhile you can find here the list of cricketers with the most number of ducks in Test cricket here.
