Mumbai Indians will take on Sun Risers Hyderabad in the 2nd doubleheader of the tournament in Sharjah. This will probably be another high scoring at this smaller venue. MI will be happy with the form of their skipper Rohit Sharma who has scored 2 match-winning 50’s. David Warner has not yet scored a long inning that we are accustomed to seeing him in SRH colors.

After a thumping win over KXIP by 48 runs, MI will be confident heading into the game against SRH who has not yet fired. They will happy with the way the middle-order played especially the form of Hardik Pandya who is back to form and in the company of Kieron Pollard helped a target that was beyond Punjab’s reach.
SRH who have been not consistent so far unearthed a great find in their seemingly middle-order. Priyam Garg, the Indian U-19 captain, scored a fighting half-century, and another youngster Abhishek Sharma resurrected the inning from a precarious score of 69-4. With the ball, they started well by removing the top order of CSK not for many runs. Bhuvneshwar injury is a cause of concern, and they will hope it’s not serious. SRH won the game eventually by 7 runs.
Key players from both sides:
Batsman – Quinton De Kock, Surya Kumar Yadav, Kane Williamson, and David Warner.
Quinton De Kock has not had the best of IPL’s so far with just 48 runs from 4 outings and MI might be looking at Chris Lynn if he has another bad outing or so. Surya Kumar Yadav has had a mixed bag with few unlucky dismissals, so he will also be looking to get a decent knock in his belt. Having scored 115 runs in 4 innings, David Warner will look to come on his own in this game. Kane Williamson was unfortunate to be run out against CSK but looked to be in good touch. More importantly, they have the best opportunity yet as they play in favorable Sharjah surface with short boundaries.
All Rounder- Abhishek Sharma, Rashid Khan, Hardik Pandya, and Kieron Pollard.
Abhishek Sharma is turning out to be a good allrounder for the SRH with key contributions with bat and bowl in recent matches. Rashid Khan hasn’t required to bat yet, but he has been brilliant with the ball in the past couple of games. These players will have to bowl at crucial junctures on both fronts in short Sharjah boundaries. The MI duo who stitched a matchwinning stand in their previous will be once again be relied upon to give a massive finish.
Bowlers – Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, James Pattinson, and Jasprit Bumrah.
The likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan has been brilliant in death overs for SRH, and the formers form in the recent games has been refreshing but had an injury concern. So they will hold the key along with Rashid to restrict the opponents to as much as possible. James Pattinson has surprisingly been the standout for MI having picked wickets and going for very few runs. Jasprit Bumrah is back to his lethal best with the ball after a couple of poor outings with the bat. If Bhuvneshwar Kumar is not fit for the next game, their bowling will suffer.
Battles to look forward
- Jasprit Bumrah vs David Warner
- Trent Boult vs Jonny Bairstow
- Kieron Pollard vs Rashid Khan
Jasprit Bumrah has been making the ball talk again as he used to do it earlier and will be up against the SRH openers who can take the game away from any bowling attack. Another paceman Boult will also hold the key for MI against the likes of Bairstow. Since the boundaries of Sharjah are small, Rashid Khan will play a vital role in the middle overs for SRH against an in-form pair of Pollard and Pandya.
Head to Head between MI and SRH.

Significant Approaching Milestones.
2- Surya Kumar Yadav requires another 2 maximums to reach 50 IPL 6’s.
40- Manish Pandey requires another 40 runs to complete 3000 career IPL runs.
