3 Times Karan KC Proved To Be ‘The Miracle Man’ For Nepal

Despite making his debut for Nepal as a fast bowler, Karan KC has also evolved into a reliable batsman in the lower-middle order.

His ability to clear the boundaries at will is second to none amongst the current crop of Nepali players.

Karan KC has proven to be a trump-card for Nepal every now and then. Be it bowling, batting or fielding, KC is found giving more than 100% on every instance.

While he has won Nepal several games with his bowling, there are some where he surprised everyone by winning matches when everything looked done-and-dusted. Such unforgettable wins have resulted in him receiving the sobriquet of ‘The Miracle Man’.

Here, we’ll be revisting 3 such encounters when Karan KC scripted unprecedented victories for Nepal with the bat:

#3 40(14)* vs Thailand | Oct 7, 2019

Playing a league game during the ICC World Twenty20 Asia Region Qualifier B tournament against Thailand, the Nepalese side were caught in a spot of bother.

With little more than 3 overs left in the innings, Nepal had already lost 6 wickets with just 121 on the board.

Karan KC, walking out to bat at no.8, had the burden of scoring quick as well as not throwing his wicket away. Karan did exactly that.

Karan struck 4 sixes and 2 fours during the blitzkrieg as he propelled Nepal to an above-par total of 172/7 in the allotted 20 overs.

Karan and Sompal had a partnership of 44 off the last 2.4 overs, out of which Sompal scored 4(4)*.

Defending the total, Nepal tormented the Thai batting line-up as Sandeep Lamichhane picked up 5 wickets. Karan KC starred with the ball, too, returing figures of 3/2 in 1.5 overs and restricting Thailand to a score of 18/9 in 8.5 overs.

Nepal won the match by 140 runs (D/L method) and Karan KC was rightfully adjudged the Man of the Match.
