Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) were one of the two new entrants in the IPL in 2022.
In the very first season, they stormed into the playoffs. LSG sealed a spot in the Eliminator, though they lost the game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
LSG repeated their performance in the next season. They made it to another Eliminator in 2023. But this time, they went down against Mumbai Indians.

LSG are one of the four teams to qualify for the playoffs in the first two IPL editions after their debut.
After consecutive playoffs, LSG have failed to cross the line in the next two editions – 2024 and 2025.
In the first three seasons, KL Rahul captained LSG. He was at the helm for 37 matches and returned with 20 wins. He is followed by an young captain Rishabh Pant.
