The Mauritius Cricket Federation released a statement earlier today, announcing the introduction of the Mauritius CRIC10 League.
The Mauritius League will be hosted in Anjalay Stadium, and scheduled to be held from 11th November to 20th November 2020.
The League will be played 10 over format and will have 78+ International Cricketers Sri Lanka, West Indies, Canada, South Africa, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and UAE.
The League consists of 6 teams Curepipe Crushers, Goodlands Riders, Mahebourg Storms, Saint Pierre Quakers, Bambous Raptors, Rose Hill Warriors named after the iconic places in Mauritius.
This is the first edition to kick off global Cricket in Mauritius. The League also aims at promoting Cricket talent in Mauritius & it will showcase at an International level how well Mauritius is an ideal destination for Cricket, said an elated Ali Parkar, President, Mauritius Cricket Federation.
The League is being held under the ages of Ministry of Youth and Sports and Mauritius Cricket Federation in support with Government of Mauritius. The Governing Council also discussed the comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), which will be finalised and published in due course, to execute safe and successful conduct of this League.
The League has been powered Quasar Sports Management in association with Royal Cricket Management under the ages of Ministry of sports. The League will be broadcast on channel “1 Sports”, and talented Mauritian players will play with International players like THILAKARATNA DILSHAN, HERSCHELLE GIBBS, LANCE KLUSENER, OWAIS SHAH, SUCHITHRA SENANAYAKE, AJANTHA MENDIS, DILHARA FERNANDO, CHAMARA SILVA, BANDARA MALINGA, UMAIR ALI KHAN, HAMMAD AZAM, SANDEEP SINGH, ABDUL SHAKOOR, AMJAD KHAN, SWAPNIL PATIL, AHAD MALEK, ASAD PATHAN, which will give a sense of recognition and a way forward.
As Mauritius gears up to hosts these players, this is also a very major milestone for Mauritius and its position in the world’s leading countries in bringing sports back in life post covid.
