Mohammad Rizwan – T20I Runs – Year by Year

T20 cricket in 2021 belonged to Mohammad Rizwan. The Pakistani batsman made a mighty 1326 runs in T20 internationals, becoming the first batsman to score 1000+ T20I runs in a calendar year. He played a major role in his team’s success in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Pakistan lost the semi-final game against Pakistan, in which Rizwan ended up as his team’s high scorer. He was the third-highest run-scorer in the tournament by adding 281 to his team’s runs at an average above 70.

The success continued in 2022 too, where Rizwan played a big role in his team’s Asia Cup campaign, in which they finished as runners-up.

Earlier in his career, he had a tough two years in 2015 and 2016, averaging less than 20 in the 7 innings. He returned strong in 2019 after multiple strong displays in the domestic circuit. Since then, he has replaced the former captain Sarfaraz Khan as the side’s wicketkeeper and became the first-choice opener in all three formats.

With only around 60 games old, Rizwan is already part of the top ten batters with most 30s50+ scores, and most 80s in the twenty-twenty cricket.
