Key Insights on Most Century Partnerships in IPL history

AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli have stitched the most century partnerships in the IPL, with 10 such stands between them.

The former RCB duo converted two of their 10 century stands into double century partnerships, the joint-most in the league. Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill are the other pair.

One of the double century stands between ABD and Kohli is also the highest by a pair in an IPL innings. They put together 229 runs for the second wicket against Gujarat Lions in 2016.

Sudharsan-Gill and Quinton de Kock-KL Rahul have recorded the joint-highest opening partnership in the IPL. Both pairs added 210 runs together against CSK and KKR in 2024 and 2022, respectively. 

The six century stands between Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner came for the first wicket, the most by an opening pair in the IPL.

Warner is the only batter to have featured in five or more century partnerships for the first wicket with two partners in the league. He had five stands with Jonny Bairstow.

Ambati Rayudu is the only batter to have built three century stands with three different partners for fifth or lower wickets in the IPL.

Four of the five hundred partnerships between Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa came in chases, the most by a pair in the IPL.
