One of the most common things in cricket is that a particular batter has a special liking for an opposition, as they always tend to score runs against them, be it in any given format.

Likewise, some of the batters, owing to their familiarity with the conditions, tend to score runs at all times at a particular venue, and this is true in the case of the IPL as well.

With the IPL being played on a home-away basis, a batter gets to play more in their home venue, and it directly affects their run aggregate as they bat more.

So in this article, we will look at the top 10 batters who have scored the most IPL runs at a single venue.

Key Insights

There are 15 instances of a batter scoring 1000 or more runs at a single venue in the IPL. And the only batter to have amassed 1000 or more IPL runs in 2 different venues is David Warner. The southpaw batter has scored 1000+ runs at the Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad and the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi

161.18: AB de Villiers’ strike rate at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and this is the highest for any batter with at least 1000 runs at a venue. The next best is 160.53, off the bat of David Warner at Hyderabad.

Warner has an incredible average of 64.92 at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad, and he has played 32 innings there at the venue.

Virat Kohli has scored the most half-centuries (22+) at a single IPL venue (Bengaluru). The next best is 15 by de Villiers and Rohit Sharma, respectively, in Bengaluru and Mumbai.
