The three Lankan are also the only players to have scored more than 2500 runs against the men in blue in the 50-overs format.

They are followed by former Pakistani captain Inzamam-ul-Haq and yet another Sri Lankan top-order batsman, Tillakaratne Dilshan.

The only two non-Asian batsmen to be on this list are the members of the greatest ever Australian side – Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist.

Even though Jayasuriya is the one who has played the most number of matches as opposed to India, Jayawardene tops in terms of facing the most number of balls. He has played 3411 balls facing the Indian bowlers.
