Mumbai Indians, the five-time IPL champions, are currently captained by Rohit Sharma, who ranks among the top five run-scorers in the tournament. Rohit also leads the runs scoring chart for the Mumbai franchise by a big margin. The second-placed Kieron Pollard is almost 1000 runs less than his captain when it comes to the contribution of runs to the team.
Mumbai is a side that always prefers to maintain their core players in the side, which leads to many franchise regulars in their top-10 runs scorers chart.
Few world-class batsmen who have batted extensively for the blue-jerseys are Sachin Tendulkar (who was the icon player for the team when the tournament was inaugurated), Sanath Jayasuriya, Ricky Ponting, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh, Andrew Symonds, Quinton de Kock, Hardik Pandya, Jos Buttler, Shikhar Dhawan and the young sensations Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav (nicknamed SKY).
They have always been a side with a rich batting order, and here are the top ten batters who scored the most runs for Mumbai Indians in the overall IPL seasons.
