Mumbai Indians (MI), the five-time IPL champions, always prefer to maintain their core players in the side, which leads to many franchise regulars in their run chart.

A few world-class batsmen who have batted extensively for the blue-jerseys are Sachin Tendulkar, Sanath Jayasuriya, Ricky Ponting, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock, Hardik Pandya, Jos Buttler, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav (nicknamed SKY).

They have always been a side with a rich batting order, and here are the top ten batters who scored the most runs for Mumbai Indians in the overall IPL seasons.

Key Insights

Rohit Sharma, who ranks among the top five run-scorers in the tournament, is also the lead run-getter for MI. The former MI skipper is the only batter with 5000+ runs for the franchise.

Sharma has also been dismissed for the most ducks in the blue jersey. He has scored 16 ducks playing for MI and followed by Harbhajan Singh with 13. (Check out the batter with the most ducks in the league here!)

The only player who is not in this top ten list and scored an IPL century for Mumbai Indians is Sanath Jayasuriya. The former Sri Lankan opener scored 768 runs in the 30 innings he played for the franchise. Jayasuriya’s unbeaten 114 against Chennai Super Kings in the first season is still the highest score by any MI batsman to date.

In the sixes count, Sharma leads the tally with 230+ maximums. He also leads the fours column with 500+ boundaries.

West Indies opener Lendl Simmons has the best average (39.96) among the players with more than 1000 runs for the franchise, and Hardik Pandya rules the strike rate (150+) column.
