Key Insights

Only Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli have scored 2000 or more runs in successful run chases. Kohli has a staggering average of 59+ in those games, coupled with a strike rate of 140+, which is great.

Though these two batters have great numbers, Warner remains the standout, as he not only possesses the best average of around 68 for batters with at least 1500 IPL while batting second in winning causes, but he strikes them at a rate of close to 154 runs per 100 balls.

141 is the highest individual score in successful run chases in the IPL. And it was achieved by Abhishek Sharma while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Punjab Kings in 2025.

Only Jos Buttler, Virat Kohli and Ben Stokes have scored more than one century in run chases, and for all, it came when their respective teams were winning. (Check out the batters with the most centuries in the league here.)
