Virat Kohli is the most successful Asian Test captain in the SENA countries. While leading India, Kohli returned with seven victories in 24 SENA Tests.
Overall, 20 captains from Asia have won two or more Tests in SENA nations. Nine of them are from India, the most from an Asian team.
Mominul Haque is the only Bangladesh skipper to win a Test in one of the SENA countries. He led the Bangla Tigers to an eight-wicket win against New Zealand in the 2022 Mount Maunganui Test.
Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, and Arjuna Ranatunga are the three Asian captains to win two Test series each in the SENA combined. Coincidentally, three of them won a series each in England and New Zealand.
Seven Pakistan captains have won a Test series each in New Zealand, the most among Asian skippers in a country.
Dimuth Karunaratne is the only Asian skipper to pull off a Test series triumph in South Africa. He guided Sri Lanka to a 2-0 clean sweep over the Proteas in 2019.
