Rajasthan Royals (RR) are among the teams that have won the coveted IPL trophy. In fact, RR were the first team to win the title in the inaugural 2008 IPL season under the captaincy of Shane Warne.

Key Insights

The Rajasthan Royals have made it to the Playoffs in six seasons and the finals in two seasons. Out of the two finals, they lifted the IPL trophy in the 2008 season and ended up as the runner-up in 2022.

The Royals have also reached Qualifier 2 (2013 and 2024) and the Eliminator twice each (2015 and 2018).

Throughout their IPL participation, RR have at least won five games in every season. However, 2020 was their worst season, as Rajasthan ended up in the last spot (eighth) on the points table.

RR have finished in 7th place on the points table in four different seasons (2010, 2012, 2019, 2021).

Shane Warne and Sanju Samson are the only two players who have led Rajasthan Royals in 50 or more IPL matches. In fact, Samson is their most successful skipper in the league.
