He is also the 7th player to lead the Indian team in T20 internationals.
Dhawan recorded his 36th half-century against West Indies in 2022 while playing as captain. This made him the oldest Indian captain to score a half-century in ODIs, overcoming MS Dhoni and Mohammed Azharuddin. Dhawan was 36 years and 229 days while achieving this feat.
