SNP vs JT – Match 21 of CPL 2021 – Match Preview, Dream11 Team Predictions, and Fantasy Tips

This article will talk about the probable XIs for both teams and continue with the Dream11 predictions and the winning fantasy team for the 21st match of the Caribbean Premier League between Jamaica Tallawahs and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots that is scheduled to be played on the 8th of September 2021.

Jamaica Tallawahs(JAM) led by Rovman Powell will take on St Kitts and Nevis Patriots(SKN) led by Faf Du Plessis for the 21st match on Wednesday. In the last contest between the two teams a week back, St Kitts won by 6 wickets.  While the Patriots are at the top having won 5 out of 7 games, the Tallawahs won just 2 out of their 1st five.

Tallawahs will have played a game before coming into this contest against the Patriots. They lost their last completed game against the Knight Riders by 7 wickets. Jamaica Tallawahs batting first after being inserted into by the TKR, lost their way in the powerplays by losing 5 wickets for just 15 runs. Imad Wasim, the Pakistan all-rounder scored a 38-ball 42 and gave company to Carlos Brathwaite who whose 58 from 40 propelled the score to 144/7. However, it didn’t prove enough to contain a strong TKR batting.

The Patriots led by Gayle lost their 2nd consecutive match against the Lucia Kings. Batting first, they could make just 118 as only Devoin Thomas(28) and Fabian Allen contributing to the cause. They missed Dwayne Bravo in the team in both departments as the Kings chased the target in under 16 overs and by 6 wickets.

Probable Playing XIs

Jamaica Tallawahs had a disappointing outing in the last completed game and also their top-order collapsed which dented their chances to post a big score despite efforts from Brathwaite and Imad Wasim in the middle-order. They would want the young top-order batsman like Kennar Lewis, Kirk Mckenzie, Haider Ali, and skipper Rovman Powell to play much better than what they did the last match. Chadwick Walton could make a comeback after missing the last game due to injury.

Similarly the Nevis Patriots despite being the top team this CPL lost 2 consecutive games and would want to address few issues of their own. One is the consistency in top-order where senior players like Evin Lewis and Chris Gayle need to fire. Bravo may return to the side as well which will boost them.

Jamaica Tallawahs

Chadwick Walton(wk)/ Kirk Mckenzie, Kennar Lewis, Haider Ali, Rovman Powell(c), Andrew Russell, Carlos Braithwaite, Jason Mohammed, Migael Pretorius, Imad Wasim, Chris Green, Fidel Edwards

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots

Even Lewis, Sherfane Rutherford, Devon Thomas(WK), Andre McCarthy, Chris Gayle(C), Asif Ali, Dwayne Bravo/ Colin Archibald, Fabian Allen, Paul Van Meekeren, Fawad Ahmed, Naseem Shah

Match Prediction

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots won their last encounter against the Jamaica Tallawahs and we can expect a similar kind of result in this return fixture as well.

Fantasy Tips

Batsmen: Even Lewis has given a good start to this CPL but had an average couple of games. Despite that, he can be selected along with T20 legend Chris Gayle in the fantasy XI. Sherfane Rutherford has 3 half-centuries in this CPL, so can be picked. Kennar Lewis didn’t score much in the last game but has already scored 160 in this season.

Wicket-Keepers: Devon Smith has scored runs at the top of the order throughout the CPL for the Patriots. So he can be picked as the lone keeper in the squad.

All-rounders: Andrew Russell is an obvious pick for any T20 side due to his match-winning abilities and has been good with the bat here. Imad Wasim, who made 38 and took 2 wickets in the last game is one of the all-rounders who can be selected along with Carlos Brathwaite who is in great batting form.

Bowlers: Migael Pretorius, who has 11 scalps so far is the 1st bowler on the fantasy side. Leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed and Paul Van Meekeran can be the other 2 bowlers to complete the XI.

Captaincy Choices

Fantasy Team: Devon Smith, Even Lewis(VC), Kennar Lewis, Chris Gayle, Sherfane Rutherford, Carlos Brathwaite, Imad Wasim, Andrew Russell(C), Fawad Ahmed, Paul Van Meekeran, Migael Pretorius.

Captain – Andrew Russell

Andre Russell has been in tremendous hitting form as of late and is an ideal choice for being a captain of the fantasy team.

Vice-Captain– Evin Lewis

The left-hander has scored 230 runs in this CPL thus far and should be the vice-captain of the fantasy team.
