Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will play against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 52nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Sunday (May 08) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, hoping to end their three-match losing streak.
Sunrisers Hyderabad has struggled with consistency, as they went from winning five straight games to losing three in a row. After failing in previous matches, Kane Williamson will be hoping for a better performance from his bowlers. Except for Bhuvneshwar Kumar, their pace attack failed to impress with the ball. SRH batsmen failed to live up to expectations in back-to-back matches, falling short of chasing more than 200 runs in the last two games.
SRH saw some positive signs in the past two games as Nicholas Pooran regained his form. They’ll be hoping to get back to winning ways and keep their chances of making the playoffs alive.
Virat Kohli struggles to play aggressive cricket and finds it difficult to change gears after settling at the crease. He scored a run-a-ball half-century against the Gujarat Titans, and 30 runs off 33 balls against the Chennai Super Kings.
This season, Glenn Maxwell can play match-winning knocks but hasn’t lived up to expectations. Mahipal Lomror played crucial cameos in the last two matches after warming the bench for a long time. After failing in a few matches, Dinesh Karthik returned to form as a finisher against Chennai.
Skipper Faf du Plessis has concerns with their line-up. The RCB bowlers have not looked in good touch, and Mohammed Siraj has been completely out of touch in this tournament. After being considered a test match specialist, Josh Hazlewood has impressed with his bowling in the T20s. Harshal Patel is a bit expensive and lacking in taking wickets in the death overs.
