Key Insights

Thus far, no batter from a full-member team has scored a century on their T20I debut.

Canada are the only team with multiple batters with T20I centuries on their debuts.

Canada were also the first team to record a hundred by a debutant in T20I cricket. Ravinderpal Singh was the first debutant to reach triple-digit figures in a T20I innings. He brought up a 101-run knock against the Cayman Islands in 2019.

Jean-Pierre Kotze, who was the second to achieve the feat, has struck the fastest T20I hundred by a debutant. He needed 43 deliveries to bring up his maiden T20I ton for Namibia against Botswana in 2019.

Serbia’s Leslie Dunbar is the lone wicketkeeper-batter to smash a hundred on T20I debut. He smashed an unbeaten 104 against Bulgaria in 2019. Not just one, he has a record number of T20I 100s as wicketkeeper.

In 2021, New Zealand became the first team to have five batters with a fifty-plus score on their T20I debuts. Canada and Namibia joined them in 2022 and 2024, respectively.
