There have been no definite favorites with multiple champions being crowned over the past editions and Pakistan (also hosts), will enter the 9th edition as the defending champions.

India has won the most number of games in Champions Trophy history. The men in blue have also played the most games in the tournament (29), winning 18 with the maximum winning percentage of 2.250.

Only India has a W/L ratio of over 2.000 in CT history with Australia coming next with 1.500.

We have 7 champions in the tournament’s history in the 8 editions thus far. Australia (2006 & 2009) and India (2002 & 2013) are the only sides to have won multiple times (2 each), while Pakistan (2017), Sri Lanka (2002), New Zealand (2000), West Indies (2004), and South Africa (1998) won the trophy once each. It is to be noted that Sri Lanka and India were declared joint champions in the 2002 edition.

2: England and Bangladesh are the only sides to have played 10 or more games but have yet to win a Champions Trophy.
