Top 5 Batting Performances of KL Rahul in IPL

KL Rahul debuted in the Indian Premier League in 2013 for Royal Challengers Bangalore as a wicket-keeper batsman. He appeared in 95 games and scored 3273 with a consistently average of 47.4.

The two enormous tons involved in his IPL career have been smashed back in the last two seasons. He is such a classy batter as far as the concern of technique & timing in the game.

He was recently appointed as the vice-captain of the Indian National Team in the limited-overs format. He is better known for the persistence he brings with the bat; that’s not something that could be a cakewalk for everyone.

He is also a better batsman as far as the concern of improvement & execution. In the portraying words of Aakash Chopra, “Kamal Lajawab” Rahul has been leading the new franchise of ‘Lucknow Supergiants’ in this IPL season.

He is so toiling to have created hype in his career so early. He is among the best leading batsmen in the international circuit these days.

1 132*(69) PBKS vs RCB in 2020

KL Rahul was so glamorous when he scored his maiden century against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Punjab, invited to bat first, KL scored 132* in 69 balls with a plunging strike rate of 191.30, and Punjab posted 206/3 on the scoreboard.Not many people have done that while in the role of leadership.

Later, when RCB batters walked in to bat, they found the target so hard to pursue and rattled on 109. And in the end, PBKS won the game by a considerable margin of 97 runs.

2 100*(64) KXIP vs MI in 2019

KL Rahul scored his second ton in the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League against the team of Rockstars, “Mumbai Indians.” But, he ended up on the disappointing side as Mumbai won the encounter by 3 wickets in the very last ball of the game.

As usual, Punjab again opted to bat first and put the score of 197/4 on the board, but their bowling couldn’t match the batting performance, and they failed in the match by 3 wickets.

3 95*(70) KXIP vs RR in 2018

A day of failure for KXIP in a league encounter against Rajasthan as they failed miserably in their chase against Punjab Kings, chasing 159 . Except for KL Rahul, who achieved his third-best figures in his IPL career of 95*(70), including 11 fours & 2 sixes.

The figures of other Punjab top-order batters were C.Gayle 1(1), K Nair 3(5), and M. Tiwary7(8), and RR successfully restricted them to 143/7.

4 94(60) KXIP vs MI in 2018

The fourth Knock of KL Rahul, which ranked at no5 in the list, came against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2018. Batting first, Mumbai Indians scored 186/8 in 20 overs with the help of the knocks from Kieron Pollard & Krunal Pandya.

Later, PBKS started pretty well in the powerplay as the leader was leading from the front with 94(60) having a strike rate of 156.67. But, other batsmen again failed to assist him in the innings, and KXIP lost the clash by just 3 runs to MI. Here is a list of batsmen who has scored the most runs against Mumbai Indians in IPL.

5 84*(54) KXIP vs RR in 2018

In the second league met up against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2018, Punjab defeated Rajasthan Royals by 6 wickets. From the side of Punjab, Jos Buttler played a solid knock of 51(39) and took KXIP to 152/9 in 20 overs.

But, as KL Rahul stepped in to open the innings, the target started to look too tiny. He smacked 84*(54), consisting of 7 fours & 3 sixes, along with Karun Nair taking a supporting role. And at the end, both of them made Punjab victorious by 6 wickets and still 8 balls to remain in the game.
