Rajasthan Royals are most likely to play this IPL season without the white-collar services of England’s cricketing pro, Ben Stokes. After Stokes left Pakistan vs England test series in its midway, it was crystal clear that the player might miss on the initial matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). The English all-rounder previously, when picked to play for Rising Pune SuperGiants in 2017, was the most expensive overseas cricketer to play in IPL, the record which now belongs to Pat Cummins of KKR.
Stokes had to leave for New Zealand as his father was diagnosed with brain cancer. The depressed cricketer could not have been able to render the trending assistance, hence, withdrew himself. Also, the management of the RR has been humble towards the player granting him as much time as he requires to spend time with his beloved family.
However, no Stokes in their squad might hit their middle-overs performance. The player is known for his aggressive batting and bowling and often stables the team playing in the mid-overs. He has smashed a total of 635 runs in a total of 34 matches.

“First and foremost, thoughts with the Stokes family. It’s a difficult scenario, so we are giving him as much time as he needs, and connecting with him as best as we can. So yeah, we are not sure where Stokesy’s right now, but once it has played out, then we can make our decisions from there,” the head coach of Rajasthan Royals, Andrew McDonald told ESPNCricinfo.
In a recent development, it has been known that Rajasthan Royals and England’s dynamic all-rounder Ben Stokes will be playing the IPL 2020 in UAE. According to PTI, Stokes is likely to miss the first few matches but will touchdown in UAE and will be donning the RR outfit for majority of the tournament. Stokes posted this video in his Instagram account yesterday, where he was seen practicing bowling at the Nets.
