Key Insights

12: The number of batters to have scored a century in the IPL before turning 24. The other two are David Miller, who scored a century aged 23 years and 330 days for the Punjab Kings, and Cameron Green, who scored a century for the Mumbai Indians aged 23 years and 352 days in the IPL.

Shubman Gill has scored a century before turning 24 three times, the only batter to have more than 1 IPL century before that age. The Gujarat Titans skipper made all 3 tons 11 days apart from each other.

129: One of Gill’s scores during those tons was 129 against the Mumbai Indians in Ahmedabad in the 2023 season, and this remains the highest score by a batter before crossing the 24-year mark.

As many as 4 batters on this list have made their maiden IPL tons at a young age for the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), the most for any team. The players are Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, Quinton de Kock, and David Warner.

Manish Pandey’s 114* in the second season of the IPL held in South Africa was the first-ever ton scored in the tournament by an Indian, and he remains the youngest IPL centurion in history. However, Pandey took 67 deliveries to reach the three-digit figure, which is the joint slowest hundred in the IPL.
