First T20I: IND vs NZ Dream11 Predictions, Playing XI Probables & Fantasy Tips

After the completion of ICC T20 World Cup 2021, both teams will start their new assignment to build the new team for the upcoming ICC event, which will be in 2022. New Zealand is coming in as runner-up in the T20 World Cup, and India was knocked out in the tournament’s first round. However, it will be a new challenge for India under new captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid, as Virat Kohli resigned from the captaincy in a shorter format.

On the other end, New Zealand will look to grab a series victory in India in the absence of some senior players from the opposition. Their bowling lineup was the key in the last tournament, and they will look to dominate with the ball in this series as well.

Playing XI Probables

India

In the absence of Virat Kohli, Ishan Kishan is likely to get the number three position in the playing XI. Axar Patel will play a role of a spin all-rounder at number seven. Yuzvendra Chahal is back in the squad after missing the T20 World Cup so he is likely to start as a prime spinner.

Probable Playing XI: Rohit Sharma(c), KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant(wk), Venkatesh Iyer, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin/Mohammad Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar.

New Zealand

New Zealand is coming with a terrific performance despite their loss in the final of the T20 World Cup against Australia. They will look to give chances to the new players in the series against the good bowling attack of India. The pace all-rounder Kyle Jamieson will be a valuable addition in this line up however, it will be tough for him to get a chance in the playing XI.

Probable Playing XI: Martin Guptill, Daryl Mitchell, Kane Williamson(c), Glenn Phillips, Tim Seifert(wk), James Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Trent Boult, Lockie Ferguson, Tim Southee/Kyle Jamieson.

What can you expect?

New Zealand has a pretty controlled bowling attack for this format. So, it will be a challenge for them to perform against this strong Indian batting line-up. The one thing which is in their favor is, they have demolished this Indian side just 10 ago in similar conditions in UAE. However, Kiwi batters need to give their best to post a good total for their bowlers.

The conditions are in favor of the Indian side and they have an outstanding record at home so they will start as favorites to win this first T20I game.

Fantasy Suggestions

Once again, a chaser’s game today. Pick players accordingly. Don’t go deep into the batting unit of the team that bats second. Pick their top-order batters.

Keep your bowlers restricted to someone who bowls early in the game. With the pitches easing out in the game’s later stages, it is smart to have bowlers from the first-bowling team.

Dream11 Team

Wicket-Keepers: Rishabh Pant is the only best option available in the wicket-keeping section. He can score quick runs at a firing strike rate in the slog overs. Ishan Kishan will be a good pick for the grand league.

Batsmen: Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul were top run-scorers for India in the T20 World Cup. Kane Williamson smashed a brilliant 85 in his last inning against Australia and Martin Guptill can be picked as another batter who is in good form.

All-rounders: Daryl Mitchell and Mitchell Santner, both giving good fantasy points with their all-rounder abilities. Axar Patel can be picked from the Indian side.

Bowlers: Yuzvendra Chahal and Trent Boult are no-brainers in this format. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be a third bowling option for me.

Captaincy pick: KL Rahul is running in supreme form in this format and he has proved it in the back-to-back tournaments, IPL, and T20 World Cup. By looking at his consistency, he will be the best pick to captain in this game. Rohit Sharma and Kane Williamson are the other two options who performed brilliantly for their respective sides.
