The 15th edition of IPL will start in a few days; all the franchises are busy with their drill sessions to gear up for the tournament as the league phase of the tournament will be played on the dry & dusty pitches of Mumbai & Pune. It will be intriguing to watch out for the manoeuvring of the fast bowlers on helpless tracks. Many teams had picked-up giant fast bowlers in the auction to strengthen their bowling unit, while meagre of them rely on the spinners by keeping the typical subcontinental conditions in mind.
Due to the absence of green & bouncy tracks, it is pretty much uncovered that fast bowlers have to manoeuvre on their pace variation skill to make a strong impact for their team. Most of them can take over the conditions pretty well, but the naive names like Marco Jansen, Romario Shepherd, Odean Smith may find it difficult to cope with.
Let’s take a look at the top 5 Pacers who would be on the verge to deliver single-handed wins to their teams this season.
#1 Jasprit Bumrah
The Ace from Mumbai Indians side is the first guy whom all are eager to watch in this season. As usual, he’ll be leading the pace attack of Mumbai Indians; he will step in with a responsibility to take his team to victory in each encounter. Bumrah made his debut in 2013, and since then, he played 106 matches in which he picked up 130 wickets with a great economy of 7.40. MI will rely on him to spell magic with the ball for them.
#2 Kagiso Rabada
Kagiso Rabada is starting his journey with Punjab Kings this season after departing from DC. The South African pace battery is consistently performing well in all seasons of IPL in which he made his appearances. In PBKS, along with other pacers like Arshdeep Singh, Sandeep Sharma & Odean Smith, he will have a big role to manage all things as a leader in the fast bowling section. He has had some fitness-related issues in the past hope will counter them all for his team in this edition.

#3 Harshal Patel
The man who has been doing wonders for RCB for the last two seasons and recently got Indian cap in the T20I series against Windies will be at no 3 in the list of Pacers to watch out for. Harshal is a master in the change of pace bowling; looking at his bowling speed, nobody would say he is a gun fast bowler, but he is the right man for RCB in the right bowling conditions. In the last two seasons, he picked up 51 wickets in 28 matches, holding the purple cap till the end in both seasons.
#4 Avesh Khan
His story is the same as Harshal Patel’s, standing up from the mega stage of IPL to get to the door of the Indian team. Now all set to ablaze his magic in the international Circuit of cricket. Avesh was 2nd most wicket-taking bowler after Harshal Patel in IPL 2021. In this season, he will bowl under the leadership of KL Rahul at Lucknow Supergiant, where his role will be very critical for the team to pick wickets and restrict the flow of runs.
#5 Mohammad Siraj
Mohammad Siraj is an underrated guy in this format with the numbers he has (50 wickets in 50 matches) in the tournament, but the number game doesn’t always portray the right picture. The vicious yorkers he bowls with the perfect slower ones by hitting the right areas makes him the special guy in the whole list. Though he is ranked at the last position, he is no more behind any pacer skill-wise. The pace attack of RCB could be the most lethal unit among all the other teams.
