Record-Breaking Sixes Conceded by Teams in an Innings
Croatia hold the unwanted record for conceding the most sixes in a T20I innings. Spain carted out Croatian bowlers for 29 sixes in a 2025 match, which is also the most by a batting team in a T20I innings.
India were the first bowling team to concede more than 20 maximums in a T20I innings. The West Indies batters carted out Indian bowlers for 21 sixes in a 2016 game.
South Africa have conceded 20 or more sixes in three innings. India, on the other hand, have smashed 20 or more maximums in as many innings.
Zimbabwe’s 27 sixes against Gambia in 2024 helped them score 344 for 4, the highest team total in the shortest format.
Individual Performance and Historic Batting Milestones
17 of Spain’s 29 sixes against Croatia came off the bat of Mohammad Ihsan, the second-most by a batter in a T20I innings.
Hamza Dar produced the other 12 maximums of the 29, making it only the second instance of two batters hitting 10-plus sixes in the same T20I innings.
The first instance of two batters smashing 10-plus sixes in the same T20I innings belongs to Japan’s Lachlan Yamamoto-Lake and Kendel Kadowaki-Fleming.
The Japanese duo hit 12 and 11 sixes, respectively, combining for 23 maximums during their unbeaten 258-run opening stand against China in the 2024 East Asia Cup.
The unbroken 258-run stand between Lachlan and Kendel is the highest by a pair for the first wicket in T20Is.
Team Records During High-Scoring Chases and Matches
Bulgaria and Estonia are the only two teams to score 20 or more sixes while chasing targets in a T20I innings. Bulgaria smashed23 sixes in their successful chase of 244 runs against Gibraltar in 2025, while Estonia smashed 20 maximums in their successful chase of 192 runs against Cyprus in 2024.
Bulgaria’s 244-run chase against Gibraltar is the joint fourth-highest by a team in T20I cricket.
There have been 24 instances of both teams hitting 30 or more sixes combined in a T20I match.
Out of those, eight matches have recorded both teams conceding 15 or more maximums in their respective bowling innings. Interestingly, England and the West Indies share three of those instances, while Bulgaria and Serbia share two.
