Brian Lara comes next with five double tons while playing as captain. And he has also smashed the highest Test score as a skipper. Lara brought up an unbeaten quadruple century (400) against England in 2004.

Seven more skippers have crossed the 300-run mark in Tests, with Bob Simpson being the first one with a triple hundred.

Six of Kohli’s double hundreds ended up in wins, the most among captains. Don Bradman, Graeme Smith, and Kane Williamson smashed three or more 200s in Test wins.

MS Dhoni and Mushfiqur Rahim are the two wicketkeeper-captains to bring up Test double tons. Dhoni’s 224 versus Australia is the best score between them.

A total of 11 Australian captains have scored at least one double century, the most from a Test team.

On the other hand, no skippers from Zimbabwe and Ireland have gone past the 200-run mark yet.
