GAW vs SLK – Match 13 of CPL 2021 – Dream11 Team, Predictions, and Fantasy Tips

This article will talk about the probable XIs for both teams and continue with the Dream11 predictions and the winning fantasy team for Match 13 of the CPL 2021 between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St Lucia Kings that is scheduled to take place on the 2nd of September 2021.

St Lucia Kings led by Faf Du Plessis are at the last position in the standings after managing to win just 1 game out of the 3 they have played and they will take on the Pooran-led Guyana who have also won just the 1 game but have a better run-rate.

Guyana Amazon Warriors lost its previous completed game by 7 wickets against the Nevis Patriots. Batting first, the Warriors made 166 thanks to 70 from the veteran Mohammad Hafeez and yet another half-century by Shimron Hetmyer. But it didn’t prove to be enough as the Patriots with 4 balls to spare. They would have faced the TKR before coming into this contest against the Lucia Kings.

Bowling first, St Lucia allowed the defending champs to score 158/7 in their 20 overs despite Keserick Williams’ superb spell of 4/24 as Pollard’s 29-ball 41 and Tim Siefert’s 37 took TKR over 150. The rest of the bowling attack didn’t help the Kings and even with the bat, it was just the one-man show. Only Andre Fletcher scored a 55-ball 81 while the rest of the batters didn’t even cross 20 as they lost the game by 27 runs.

Match Details

Venue: Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts

Pitch and Weather:  Likely to be a typical Caribbean pitch that will offer something to the bowlers and batsmen can score big once settled. There were several games that were in the range of 140-160 and we can see the same in this game as well. Sunny weather is expected on the match-day and the temperature will be around 28C.

Date & Time: September 2, 10 AM Local time, 7.30 PM IST

Probable Playing XIs

St Lucia Kings had a disappointing outing in their last game not only because of their 27-run loss but the fact that most of their players didn’t play at their best. Keserick Williams took a 4fer with the ball while Andre Fletcher starred with 81 while chasing and none of the other batters supported him. This is a real cause of concern as even their skipper Faf Du Plessis isn’t scoring runs at the top.

The Amazon Warriors batsmen had a much better outing in their previous game compared to the first 2 but this time it was their bowlers who couldn’t defend 166.  They will likely stick to the same side that will face the TKR.

Guyana Amazon Warriors

Nicholas Pooran (c), Shimron Hetmyer, Brandon King, Romario Shepherd/ Anthony Bramble, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Odean Smith, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Imran Tahir, Naveen-Ul-Haq,  Ashmead Nedd/ Nial Smith

Saint Lucia Kings

Faf du Plessis (c), Andre Fletcher (wk), Roston Chase, Mark Deyal, Tim David, Rahkeem Cornwall, Wahab Riaz, Keemo Paul, Samit Patel, Keserick Williams, Alzarri Joseph

Match Prediction

Guyana will be favorites to win the game as most of their batters are in relatively good form while only the Kings are relying upon few individuals in the batting department.

Fantasy Tips

Batsmen: Despite a rare failure in the last game where he scored a duck, Tim David can be picked as he scored a half-century and a quickfire 43 early on in the CPL. Shimron Hetmyer played a match-winning knock in GAW’s 1st match and made a quickfire 52 in the previous game as well. Chandrapaul Hemraj can be the 3rd batter who can be picked in the fantasy XI.

Wicket-keepers: Guyana skipper Nicholas Pooran is an obvious choice as the wicket-keeper batsman just because of his game-changing ability. Andre Fletcher after his 81 in the previous game warrants a place in the fantasy XI and he is more than a capable batter.

All-rounders: Roston Chase of the Kings may have been short of runs but he has picked wickets regularly which makes him a pick at the fantasy. Mohammad Hafeez made 70 in the last game coming at the top of the order and can be picked as 2nd all-rounder.

Bowlers: Veteran leg-spinner from Guyana team Imran Tahir has picked 5 wickets in 3 games and is a must in the fantasy XI. Keserick Williams of SLK took 4 wickets in the last and can be selected along with his teammate Alzarri Joseph who has looked good thus far. The last spot can go to Naveen-ul-Haq.

Captaincy Choices

Fantasy Team: Chandrapual Hemraj, Andre Fletcher, Tim David(VC), Shimron Hetmyer(C), Roston Chase, Mohammad Hafeez, Nicholas Pooran, Naveen-ul-Haq, Imran Tahir, Alzarri Joseph, and Keserick Williams

Captain: Shimron Hetmyer

The destructive middle-order batsman has already scored 2 half-centuries in 3 games so far and is an obvious choice to be the captain of the fantasy team.

ViceCaptain: Tim David

Tim David is one of the best hitters going around in the world and has made 99 in the 3 games he has played. The talented player is in brilliant batting form.
