In the over 50-year history of ODI cricket, we have seen numerous mind-boggling performances by the batters.

Legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Saeed Anwar, Kumar Sangakkara, AB de Villiers, Viv Richards, Rohit Sharma, etc., among others, have shown their prowess by delivering some of the most memorable ODI batsmanship through the course of their careers.

These legends have made themselves part of the batting folklore, and here is a list that is part of history. Here are the highest ODI scores smashed by batters against each nation in the 50-over format of the game.

Key Insights

Sir Viv Richards and Martin Guptill have scored exactly the same score — 189against England in ODIs. While Richards did it way back in 1984, the latter scored a 155-ball 189 at the Rose Bowl in 2013.

Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 183 is the highest score against Pakistan by any batter, and it is the only knock on the list that came while chasing.

194 by Saeed Anwar in 1996 was the long-standing ODI highest score until it was broken by Sachin Tendulkar in 2010. Now the highest ODI individual score belongs to India’s prolific batter, Rohit Sharma.
