2019 IPL Finals — How Will It Affect the 2020 League?

The most important 20-20 cricket competition in India is something many cricket enthusiasts are looking forward to every year. Mumbai Indians Win Against Chennai Super Kings

The cricket spectacle took place in Hyderabad, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. The two teams that made it to the very end were the Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings, both of which had a great group stage. In fact, both teams ended the group with nine wins out of fourteen games.

After the playoffs, the two teams ended up playing the final game against each other, and it was a real nailbiter, as the Mumbai Indians won 149/8 with 20 overs against the Super Kings’ 148/7 with 20 overs. In other words, it was a single run that determined the winner at the end and brought the Indians their fourth IPL title.

The player who proved to be very useful for Mumbai was Kieron Pollard with 41 runs, while the bowler for Chennai Deepak Chahar managed to take three wickets in the innings. However, the top scorer was definitely Shane Watson, with a total of 80 runs in the match.

In the end, it was Jasprit Bumrah who won the Player of the Match award as he managed to achieve a spell of 2 for 14 in four overs.

 

How Will the Match Affect IPL 2020?

This was a very important match that somewhat defined how we are going to perceive the teams in the upcoming league. According to numerous bookmakers, the Mumbai Indians are, once again, the biggest favourites to win the league. On the other hand, the Chennai Super Kings are not the second favourites. In fact, many bookies gave the SunRisers Hyderabad slightly better odds compared to Chennai.

When Will IPL 2020 Start?

The 2020 IPL will start on March 29 and conclude on May 24, 2020.
