Key Insights – Lowest Totals in IPL Qualifier Matches

Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils) have recorded the lowest team total in an IPL playoff match. Delhi folded for 87 runs in pursuit of Rajasthan Royals’ 192 runs in the 2008 semi-final.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) 125 for 9 is the lowest total in an IPL final game. They mustered this score in pursuit of Mumbai Indians’ (MI) 148 for 9 in the 2013 summit clash, thanks to one of Pollard’s greatest T20 innings.

Mumbai, meanwhile, have defended the lowest total in a knockout match and the final. They were successful in their defence of 129 runs against Rising Pune Supergiant in the 2017 final. MI won the match by the barest of margins of a run.

There are over 25 instances of teams registering scores of 140 or below in IPL playoffs. Find out the teams with the most below-100 totals in IPL here.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad each have four scores of 140 or below in the knockouts, the joint-most among all teams.
