Lasith Malinga has racked up the most five-wicket hauls in the ODI Asia Cup. He fetched two five-fors, all against Pakistan, the most by a bowler against a single team in the tournament’s head-to-head records.
Ajantha Mendis (2008) and Lasith Malinga (2014) are the only two bowlers to pick up two five-wicket hauls each in a single ODI Asia Cup edition.
Mendis and Malinga have also picked up four or more wickets four times, the joint-most by a bowler in the ODI Asia Cup.
Muttiah Muralitharan, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav are the others with two four-wicket hauls each in the tournament.
Muralitharan is the leading wicket-taker, with 30 scalps under his belt in the ODI Asia Cup.
Ajantha Mendis holds the record for the best bowling figures in the ODI Asia Cup, as he racked up six wickets for 13 runs against India in 2008.
Mohammed Siraj is the other bowler to bag a six-for in the tournament, having returned with six scalps for 21 runs against Sri Lanka in 2023.
Mendis and Siraj both achieved this feat in the tournament final, with Malinga being the other one to take a five-wicket haul in a title clash during the 2014 final.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the only bowler to bag a five-wicket haul in the T20 Asia Cup. He produced figures of 5 for 4 against Afghanistan in 2022.
Bhuvi is also the only bowler to take multiple four-wicket hauls in the T20I tournament, with two to his name.
Lasith Malinga and Shadab Khan are the only two bowlers to have picked up at least a four-wicket haul in both the ODI and T20 Asia Cups, cementing their status among the elite Asia Cup bowling records.
