Wasim Akram has fetched the most bowled dismissals in ODI cricket. The former Pakistani quick rattled the stumps 176 times in his ODI career.
Four bowlers have taken more than 35 per cent of their ODI career wickets through bowled dismissals (minimum 40 dismissals). Mitchell Starc (36.88) heads the list, while Waqar Younis (36.29), Jerome Taylor (35.15), and Akram (35.05) follow him.
More than 60 bowlers have bowled out 40 or more batters in ODI cricket.
In the 2003 Lahore ODI, Pakistan’s Mohammad Sami fetched four bowled dismissals against New Zealand, the joint-most by a bowler in an ODI innings. There are over 15 instances of bowlers getting four bowled dismissals in an ODI innings.
New Zealand were on the receiving end in 1985 as well. They lost eight of their batters to bowled dismissals against the West Indies, the most by a team in an ODI innings.
26 of Starc’s overall bowled dismissals came in the ODI World Cup, the most by any bowler. In fact, he is the only one with more than 20 bowled dismissals in the 50-over event. In all, 14 bowlers have taken 10 or more bowled outs in the World Cup.
Lasith Malinga, meanwhile, leads the chart in the Champions Trophy. The lanky pacer bowled out nine batters in the Champions Trophy. Overall, 12 bowlers have five or more bowled dismissals in the tournament.
