Mohammad Nabi was the first fielder to take five catches in an IPL innings. He pulled off the feat while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against Mumbai Indians (MI) in a 2021 game.
Daryl Mitchell equalled the record in 2024 against SRH. He turned up for Chennai Super Kings and caught Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Pat Cummins.
AB de Villiers holds the record for taking the most number of catches in one IPL season. He held on to 19 catches in the 2016 season, whereas Riyan Parag caught 17 in the 2022 edition.
Virat Kohli has held the maximum number of catches in the history of IPL. He has grabbed 115+ catches in his IPL career. Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Kieron Pollard, and Rohit Sharma are the only other non-wicketkeepers to grab more than 100 catches in the IPL.
