Key Insights – Highest 100-Scorers in an Asia Cup Edition

ODI Asia Cup Records

Kumar Sangakkara holds the record for the most centuries in a single ODI Asia Cup edition. He scored three hundreds in 2008, helping him accumulate 345 runs across six outings. These are the most hundreds and runs by a wicketkeeper in an ODI Asia Cup iteration.

Shahid Afridi is the only captain to bring up two centuries in an edition (2010) of the 50-over tournament.

Sanath Jayasuriya is the lone batter to hammer two hundreds in two Asia Cup editions (2004 and 2008). He also leads the run chart in an edition, having amassed 378 runs in 2008.

Jayasuriya is also the top run-scorer (1220 runs) and century-maker (six hundreds) in the tournament’s history.

Jayasuriya (2004) and Sangakkara (2008) are the only batters to score two of their centuries in consecutive innings in an ODI Asia Cup edition.

Suresh Raina scored two half-centuries along with his two hundreds in 2008, making it the joint-most fifty-plus scores in an edition. Tamim Iqbal levelled the feat in 2012 with four fifties.

T20I Asia Cup Records

Babar Hayat (122 in 2016) and Virat Kohli (122* in 2022) are the only two batters to get a ton in the T20I tournament.

So far, no batter has scored multiple hundreds in a T20 Asia Cup edition.
