Matthew Breetzke of South Africa, on his debut ODI game in 2025, scoring a brilliant match-saving 150 against New Zealand, is the highest individual ODI score made by a debutant cricket in the format. The Proteas youngster broke 47-years old record of Desmond Haynes.
