Youngsters are doing exceptionally well in the IPL from a couple of last seasons. They are all getting ample opportunities to represent the Indian cricket team in the International Circuit. If we have to talk about a few new names, Varun Chakravarthy, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, who fractionally made their debut in the Indian team through the gate of the Indian Premier League. IPL not only acts as a checking gate for the Indian national team, but other overseas nations are also recognizing the performances of their players in IPL before nominating their name for the National team.
In the 15th edition of IPL, it will be interesting to see which youngster will bolster his name for the Indian cricket team with the staggering performance. Many talented young guns revolve before the eyes right now, but beneath is a top 5 names who would catch the maximum attention in the upcoming IPL season.
#1 Ravi Bishnoi
Ravi Bishnoi, 21, will be the most anticipated player in this season of IPL; he recently took over the place in the Indian T20 team against the West Indies in the 3rd t20 encounter. He had been phenomenal in the last two seasons of IPL; the leggie from the under-19 team was picked up by Punjab Kings in the auction IPL 2020. He played 23 matches till the time and picked up 24 wickets in it; though the wickets are not too many in numbers, the economy of 6.90 makes him an exceptional bowler in the T20 format.
#2 Venkatesh Iyer
The ace of Kolkata Knight Riders who got elected in Indian team but for a wrong role & position. Venky Iyer is a top-order batsman who bowls a little bit of medium-fast bowling. But, Indian team management gave him the responsibility of finishing and looking at him as a back-up for Hardik Pandya. It will be interesting to see how KKR manages him at the top order. Previously, he was outstanding in the opening, but it’s a difficult task to manage things at the top & bottom so frequently.
#3 Avesh Khan
Avesh is standing tall with Harshal Patel for the selection of the T20 World Cup; though his first couple of games are not up to mark, he is competent & skilled enough to tackle the initial pressure of representing the nation. Avesh appeared in 25 matches for RCB & DC in IPL, where he picked up 29 wickets with an economy of 8.20. Now Lucknow Supergiants owned him and given him the prime role in the fast bowling department. Though he is so naive in the experience & exposure to varied conditions, he has a promising talent for leading the battle from the front. Hopefully, that will work for LSG. He is also one of our top five pace bowlers to look out for in this season.
#4 Ruturaj Gaikwad
The flamboyant batter of Chennai Super Kings, on whom the team management has a special trust, had shown a high-rated performance in the past IPL seasons, but he had failed in all 3 chances he had gotten for the Indian team. A typical orthodox batter who ruled the last edition of IPL by becoming the highest run-getter in the list had actual challenges ahead for this season. He scored 635 runs in 16 matches with a consistent average of 39.5, which will be a big task for maintaining it throughout the season.
#5 Sarfaraz Khan
Sarfaraz Khan had been a flying batter in the domestic circuit of the country; his last few Ranji trophy numbers are like 71, 36, 301, 226, 25, 78, 177,6, 275. Despite being picked up at a low price tag of 20 lac by Delhi capitals, Sarfaraz has the ability & golden touch to multiply the money in this season. Sarfaraz previously played for RCB, where he had used to finish the innings. Still, again the same issue happened with Venkatesh Iyer, “The Playing Style”, so fingers crossed for him and his new franchise Delhi Capital this season.
