Austria’s Karanbir Singh is the fastest batter to score 1500 runs in T20I cricket. He took 37 innings to reach the landmark.
Sri Lanka’s Dasun Shanaka has taken the most innings to aggregate 1500 runs in T20Is, taking 96 innings.
New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum was the first batter to score 1500 runs in T20Is, reaching the mark in his 49th innings back in 2012.
Fastest to 1500 T20I Runs by Balls Faced and Time
Suryakumar is the fastest to score 1500 T20I runs by balls faced. He took 843 deliveries to achieve the milestone.
Saudi Arabia’s Faisal Khan (866), England’s Phil Salt (886), Australia’s Tim David (889), and Karanbir (897) are the other batters to accumulate 1500 runs in less than 900 balls in T20Is.
Karanbir is also the quickest to score 1500 T20I runs by time. He surpassed the mark in one year and 147 days after his T20I debut in May 2024.
India’s Suryakumar Yadav (1y 300d) and Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett (1y 347d) are the other batters to complete 1500 runs within two years of their T20I debuts.
Zimbabwe’s Sean Williams has taken the longest time, completing his 1500 T20I runs in 16 years and 361 days from his T20I debut in November 2006.
Kenya’s Collins Obuya (16y 86d) is the other batter to take more than 16 years to accumulate 1500 runs in T20Is.
Fastest/Slowest to 1500-Run Milestones by Role
Karanbir is also the quickest to aggregate 1500 runs as an opener in T20Is. He needed 34 innings, three fewer than his overall record across different positions.
Bangladesh’s Tamim Iqbal is the slowest opener, taking 71 innings to complete 1500 runs in T20Is.
India’s MS Dhoni took 10 more innings than Iqbal to complete 1500 T20I runs as a wicketkeeper. His 81 innings are the most by a keeper-batter to reach the milestone.
Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan took 40 innings less than Dhoni, completing 1500 runs in 41 innings, making him the fastest wicket-keeper batter.
UAE’s Muhammad Waseem also took 41 innings, although as a captain. This is the fewest innings taken by a skipper to score 1500 T20I runs.
Namibia’s Gerhard Erasmus needed 20 more innings, reaching 1500 T20I runs in 61 innings while leading his side.
