Ajantha Mendis has delivered the best bowling figures in the ODI Asia Cup. He returned with the figures of 6 for 13 against India in the 2008 final. Mendis’ 6 for 13 are the best bowling figures in an Asia Cup final. Mohammed Siraj’s 6 for 21 against Sri Lanka in the 2023 final are the second-best in an Asia Cup final.

UAE’s Khurram Khan has bowled the best figures among the associate bowlers in the ODI Asia Cup. He picked up four wickets for 32 runs against Sri Lanka in 2004.

Khurram Khan’s figures are the second-best by a captain in the tournament. Sri Lanka’s Ravi Ratnayeke betters him with his 4 for 23 against Bangladesh in 1988.

Arshad Khan has bowled the most economical spell in an innings in the ODI Asia Cup. He conceded five runs while pocketing a wicket in eight overs versus Bangladesh in 2000.

India’s Maninder Singh and Pakistan’s Iftikhar Anjum delivered six maidens each against Bangladesh almost 20 years apart, the joint-most by a bowler in an innings in the ODI tournament.

Ajantha Mendis is the only bowler to take two five-wicket hauls in a single Asia Cup edition (2008).

Overall, Lasith Malinga has picked up the most five-fors in the ODI tournament, with three to his name. All of his five-fors came against Pakistan, the most by a bowler against a team in the ODI Asia Cup.


T20 Asia Cup Records

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has taken the only five-wicket haul in the T20 Asia Cup’s history. His bowling figures of 5 for 4 against Afghanistan in 2022 are the best in the tournament. He is also the leading wicket-taker of the tournament’s T20 edition.

Bhuvi had an economy rate of one in his spell, the lowest by a bowler in a T20 Asia Cup innings.

Oman’s Aamir Kaleem has delivered the best bowling figures among associate bowlers in the T20 Asia Cup. He bagged four wickets for 36 runs against the UAE in 2016.

Pramod Madushan’s 4 for 34 against Pakistan in 2022 are the best figures by a bowler in the T20 Asia Cup final.

Malinga has delivered the best bowling figures as a captain in the T20 Asia Cup, returning with 4 for 26 against the UAE in 2016.

Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvi bowled two maidens each against Pakistan and the UAE in 2016, the joint-most in an innings in the T20I tournament.
