IPL 2020

3 Reasons Why RCB can win IPL 2020

The team that’s always winning hearts and gave us innumerable memorable moments. This time, the probability of Kohli and company putting their hands on the trophy looks quite promising. Let’s check out some reasons why they can be one of the favourites this season.

1. An explosive opening stand

The 2019 season of Indian Premier League had Royal Challengers Bangalore at the eighth position. The team’s failure to have a stable and explosive opening stand is one reason that the players such as Virat Kohli and Ab de Villiers have to play in a way to make a defendable score. These two players can chase any target in this format, and they have to play their game to show the hunger of scoring runs at a good pace.

The inclusion of Aaron Finch as an opener with Parthiv Patel will give these players a cushioning to come in and play a more aggressive inning. Parthiv Patel and Aaron Finch have to provide a bold start to the team. Including Devdutt Padikkal as an opener with Aaron Finch can also be a good move. Padikkal had a splendid season in the domestic season. Overall having an explosive and consistent opening pair will surely increase chances of winning.

Teams that were having a successful run in the year 2019, i.e. Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Sunrisers Hyderabad had more explosive and consistent scores.

2. Aggressive and technically-sound Batsmen in middle order

Shivam Dubey (Bat/Ball), ABD (wk/Bat), Moeen Ali (Ball/Bat), Gurkeerat Singh Mann (Bat/Ball), Shabaz Ahmed (Bat/Ball) -Having this kind of batting line up in the middle order will add up as an all-round performance. A stable display from the top order and then an explosive finishing by the middle order will make sure that any target can be chased and also helps in setting up the above-par total.

3. Mature Bowling in the Death

Having a bowling line up which includes pace and aggression is everything that the Bangalore team will need in UAE. Including these players along with an all-round middle order. Having the likes of Dale Steyn, Navdeep Saini, Yuzvendra Chahal will add up. They should also focus on the fact that the Kohli-led team has disappointed a lot in death over the past two seasons. The team has a more diverse bowling line up is also a reason that 2020 can be a year for RCB and it’s fans.

Wrap up

BCCI will be using all three grounds at Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. These are all big grounds with no or less support to the swing and pace. The teams will have to make sure that they have a good spin department and including batsmen who play spin well. The grounds here are bigger, so having players who are very fit will be an essential thing to consider.

Running between the wickets should be one of the most important things. Hitting a boundary will be a little more difficult compared to previous IPL seasons. At the start though, the pitches will be very beneficial for the batsmen, but as the tournament goes on, the pitches will be getting worn out and will start surprising batsmen.
