Viv Richards became the first player to score a century and bag a four-wicket haul in the same ODI, scoring 119, followed by a 5 for 41 spell against New Zealand in 1987.

Richards achieved the feat as the West Indies’ captain. Sanath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka) and Rohan Mustafa (UAE) are the other skippers with the double of a century and a four-for in an ODI.

Opening Batsmen Dominating with Bat and Ball in a Single Match

Apart from Feiko Kloppenburg, Nathan Astle, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Sanath Jayasuriya, Chris Gayle, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Rohan Mustafa have scored a hundred as an opener and taken a four-wicket haul in the same ODI.

Astle’s bowling figures of 4 for 43 against Pakistan in 1997 are his career-best for New Zealand in ODIs.

Kloppenburg’s 121 against Namibia is still the second-highest individual score by an opener for the Netherlands in ODIs.

The Netherlands’ Feiko Kloppenburg and Sri Lanka’s Tillakaratne Dilshan are the two players to achieve this feat in an ODI World Cup match.

Notably, Kloppenburg became the first associate player to hammer a century and take a four-wicket haul in the same ODI.

Rohan Mustafa (UAE), Aqib Ilyas (Oman), Bas de Leede (Netherlands) and Brandon McMullen (Scotland) are the other associate players on this list.

Kloppenburg remains the only player to achieve this feat in his ODI career’s last match.
